Save Time Applying Your Makeup Every Day
If you are someone that doesn’t get up early or you simply are not a morning person, the thought of applying a full face of makeup and the time it takes is probably something you dread every day. However, there are quite a few ways you can reduce the time spent and still be happy with the finished result.
Plan Your Makeup Ahead of Time
Unless you already only use a limited number of products, you probably have a lot of different makeup looks you like to wear. Perhaps your bathroom is filled with dozens of lipstick shades, multiple eye shadow palettes, and a handful of different blushes and bronzers. This can make it a little overwhelming in the morning when deciding what colors to use. Try to plan your makeup the night before by deciding what look you want to go with, then pull the products you will need and place them by the bathroom sink. Now in the morning you can get started right away without wasting time on the decision making.
Get a Multi-Purpose Makeup Palette
Instead of using smaller palettes with just a few colors, get some bigger makeup palettes that include more colors in one. This will help to simplify the makeup applying process in the morning, since you are just grabbing your palette and only a couple other things. You aren’t digging through your drawer and using 6 different products just to achieve a simple look.
Pick Just Three Items
On the busiest of mornings, you won’t have time for a full face of makeup. This is when using your top three products comes in handy. Choose just 3 products that you definitely want to have on your face before you leave the house, and then apply more makeup if you end up having the time or a little extra energy. This depends on the individual, so while someone else might find that their eyeliner, lipstick, and blush are the top three most important, you have blemishes and want to include foundation in your top three.
Don’t Use Eyeliner
When you are in a hurry in the morning because you slept in too long, trying to perfect your eyeliner can seem like a huge chore. This is often what takes the most time when it comes to applying makeup. If you don’t have the time, don’t worry about the eyeliner. Just put on plenty of mascara on the upper and lower lashes, then add a little eye shadow to your lower lash line. This will provide you with enough color to make your eyes pop.
Aim For a Basic Makeup Look
There is no reason to try to make your makeup look complicated. If you don’t usually have the energy for a new look every day, work on simplifying your look to more of a natural look with neutral shades. This makes it easier to apply and you end up using less products, which can also help you save money in the long run. Plus, you will free up space in your bathroom, leaving it less cluttered and easier to keep clean.
