4 Natural Acne Options

When you want to have control over your acne, it all comes down to the ingredients you use. You have the opportunity to use all natural products for removing acne, which can keep those harsh over-the-counter products from damaging your skin even further. Here are some different options for helping with acne in a more natural way.

Natural Remedies for Acne

1. Clean Your Face Regularly

Everyone should be washing their face with a gentle cleanser, but especially if you have acne-prone skin. You want to use something that is gentle and meant for your skin type, whether it is oily, dry, or combination skin. There are DIY facial cleansers, but if you want something store-bought, just look at the ingredients. Look for something without oils or harsh ingredients, as these will irritate your skin and might make the acne worse. For a natural option, coconut oil and apple cider vinegar are good for acne.

2. Don’t Forget to Exfoliate

You should also be exfoliating your skin, but don’t be too harsh with it. When you have acne, your skin becomes more sensitive, so use only soft exfoliating products. You can try it just once a week, then if you tolerate it okay, increase it to 2-3 times a week. Again, use natural exfoliators like a homemade salt scrub so you don’t irritate your skin with chemicals and additives.

3. Use Green Tea on Your Face

As for natural ingredients to help with acne, one to try out is green tea. Green tea is completely natural and gentle enough for any skin type. It also has antioxidants, which can help fight the acne breakouts naturally. All you need to do is use your favorite green tea, steep the tea, then let it cool off. Once it is cool, you can then use it as a nice face wash. You can also use the tea bag and place it directly on the area, once again waiting for it to cool.

4. Try Honey for Acne

Another natural remedy for acne is honey. It might seem like this sweet substance would be bad for your skin, but it is actually used in many natural acne products. The trick is to use completely raw and organic honey, not the kind with added sugar. Make your own honey mask by combining it with oatmeal and applying to the area. Leave it on for about 20 minutes before rinsing off.
