Multi-Task While Watching TV
If you are an avid don’t diet or exerciser, you probably want to spend your evenings and weekends watching TV or Netflix, instead of exercising or cooking. However, it is possible to do a variety of these things also while watching your favorite show. Here are some ways to take full advantage of multi-tasking while watching TV.
Exercise While Watching TV
You might not have the motivation to use the treadmill or go for a run in your neighborhood, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get in a good workout.
While watching your favorite TV show, challenge yourself to get up and do some type of workout during every commercial break. This could be running in place, doing jumping jacks, or trying to hold a plank for the entire commercial break.
You can also do some things right on the couch, such as side leg lifts or crunches. You are still watching your shows or movies, but also exercising at the same time.
Prep Your Fruits and Veggies For Juicing
Juicing is a really healthy thing you can do for your body, and is an easy way to get in all your fruits and veggies when you don’t have the energy to make elaborate meals during the day.
However, prepping your fruits and veggies can sometimes be a pain. If you are watching Netflix in the evening but want to prep your produce, bring it to your coffee table and do it while you watch your movie. This could be anything from chopping up vegetables to be put in the juicer to using your apple corer on the apples you intend to use or removing skin from your oranges.
If you decide to prep on the coffee table or couch, use a towel to protect your furniture. It will also make cleaning up any peels that go astray that much easier.
Put Snacks Into Individual Portion Containers
Another good thing to do while watching TV is to take the snacks you purchased and put them into portion-controlled baggies or containers. This is another thing that takes some time when packing your lunch for the day.
Bring over your snacks and some little baggies, then put them in the baggies to save in the pantry. When you are heading out and need a snack or packing your lunch for the day, it is easy to grab a little baggie or box.
Tip: I love using the Bento Lunch Boxes for this. They are easy to use, affordable and come in different colors, so you can assign a color to each family member.
Get Your Personal Items Organized
You might also want to use this time to get more organized. Just because you are lazy, doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of moments when you’re sitting on the couch.
You can organize your purse, bring all your mail over and go through it, pay your bills, or go through your makeup and decide what look you are going with tomorrow.
If you are sitting on the couch and have your smartphone handy, just create a To-do list. Each time a commercial runs go through your errands, and must do’s for the next day and add them in. When you get up in the morning you will know exactly what needs to be done.
