Exercises for Women’s Problem Areas

Many women are uncomfortable with some part of their body. The smallest tweaks can lead to some major weight loss and a leaner physique. Here are the most common problem areas that women are most concerned with, how to combat them and ways to lead a healthier lifestyle through exercise and a little dieting.

Cellulite

What is cellulite? It’s the fat underneath your skin, which causes the dimples that we all hate. An easy way to fix this is by dieting, exercising and not stressing. Exercising 30 minutes a day can lessen the appearance of cellulite. You should try to eat healthy, stay away from sugary and fatty foods, and limit your alcohol intake.

Thighs

It is much more appealing to have a lean and muscular leg rather than a meager and thin one. A good way to tone your thighs is by doing squats. Different kinds of squats will attack different parts of the thigh. A sumo squat will target your inner thigh, but a regular squat will target your outer thigh and butt.

Arms

We all know the stubborn arm fat that shakes whenever we move. A good way to fix this is by doing tricep pushups, dips and medicine ball slams. You can do these exercises at home with an 8 to 10 pound medicine ball. Tricep pushups are like regular pushups, except your hands will be in a diamond. You can do a dip by doing a backward pushup on a couch. Extend your arms behind you so that they are on the couch and dip your whole body down. For a medicine ball slam, you raise the ball over your head and throw it on the ground.

Stomach

It is believed that the stomach is where people tend to gain weight first. You can lose this fat by simply moving more. Moving more will force you to expend more energy, which will make you burn more calories. You can do simple actions, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or taking a 10 minute walk after dinner. You will be able to enjoy muffins without having a muffin top.

Buttocks

Without fat on our butt, we wouldn’t be able to sit, but we still get frustrated when we have too much fat. One way to tone your butt is to do some adductor squats. You can do these by keeping your legs wider than your hips while holding a weight. The heavier the weight, the better, but don’t do anything too strenuous.

Of course, these aren’t the only ways to lose weight and to tone your body, but it’s a good place to start while tackling the most common areas of concern for women. Even a short 10 minute walk with your dog can dramatically improve your life and your health. You can feel more confident both mentally and physically.
