When you are serious about living a healthier lifestyle, it all starts with your body. This means not only working out, but eating as cleanly as possible. A food detox often involves adding in as many veggies and fruits as you can, which is easy to do with the following salads.

Grapefruit and Kale Salad

This is a wonderful detox salad you can try out when you want something light, healthy, and flavorful. It is perfect in the hot months of spring or summer, but don’t think you can’t enjoy it when it is cold out either. You can definitely change it up how you like it, but it should include some pink grapefruit and greens, since these are really good ingredients for detoxing your body. Aside from the grapefruit and kale, you can add in any veggies or fruits you would accompany it, such as pomegranates, strawberries, watermelon, and kiwi. You can also include some nuts on top like chopped walnuts or pecans, then include some crumbled feta cheese if you eat dairy. You can stop here, or make a simple dressing with apple cider vinegar, lemon zest, and some honey.

Antioxidant Salad

This detox salad is really good when you want to cleanse your system of toxins, while also reducing your risk for illness. The antioxidants in the many fruits and veggies of the salad will really help you to be the healthiest possible. For the fruits and veggies, add in some lemon juice, kale or spinach, cherries that are pitted, onions, chickpeas, berries, and artichoke hearts. You can also add in some quinoa in order to beef it up and make it more hearty, then season it with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Chopped walnuts taste really good with this salad.

Superfoods Salad

Here is a detox salad that simply combines a bunch of superfoods that taste really good together. The great thing about this is that you can take a list of foods and other seasonings and herbs that are good for detoxing, and throw them on a bed of greens. However, here are some recommended ingredients: kale, cabbage, carrots, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, parsley, sunflower seeds, apples, and walnuts or almonds. For the dressing, such use oil and vinegar, or a very light vinaigrette that is an all-natural or organic version. Balsamic vinegar with some lemon juice would also work well.
