Quickie Time-outs for You

Hug Someone Close to You

A hug only takes a moment, but in that time a lot of things happen in your body. The most notable of these things is that your body releases hormones that can help relax you. Doctors have done numerous studies on the benefits of human contact, and report that hugs can actually help you to live a healthier, longer life than people who go without them completely.

Listen to A Song That Gets You Motivated

A lot of people have a favorite playlist or something of the sort that helps get them motivated when they’re getting ready to workout, and during workouts. Taking some time to get excited about life makes the task a lot more enjoyable, and fills your body with positive emotion and hormones that help you to stay in better spirits.

Drink Some Tea You Like

How long does it take to make tea? Making tea only really takes around 5 minutes. Tea is extremely beneficial for the body, as it delivers a good amount of nutrients that your body needs to work on a more efficient level. With a small amount of water, you can gain a dose of antioxidants and minerals from the tea. The small amount of caffeine will also get your mind alert within minutes of drinking it.

Hang Out with A Pet

Spending time with a beloved cat, dog or other pet might be the best activity for self-care. If you spend time with a pet, it can lower your blood pressure and protect your organs from the small amounts of damage that are caused by continuous high blood pressure over a sustained period. Larger animals will also help to keep you fit when you have to take them out for long walks, and they’ll enjoy it more than staying in your yard.
