Misdiagnosis of Lyme Disease

by taylorevance@gmail.com | April 21, 2017 7:19 am

Lyme disease is a problematic illness because Lyme disease is the most misdiagnosed disease[1] in the world. Lyme is misdiagnosed as a range of other common health problems, and a number of common health problems contribute to the misdiagnosis of Lyme disease.

Blood tests for Lyme disease

Part of the problem is the blood test for Lyme. People often test positive for Lyme disease, but actually have either Lyme plus a coinfection (second infection) or have a different bacterial illness and are getting what is termed a false positive on the test.

The most likely reason for a false positive is that they were infected with Lyme bacteria at some point during their lives, but the infection either never become active, or went dormant.

In some cases, there is a false negative, with Lyme infection present but not registering on the titer test.

This particular bacteria is very contagious and can be transmuted by a sneeze, a kiss or a mosquito bite. What that leads to is a whole family can be infested with these tiny snakes and each one has a different set of symptoms, and are thus each diagnosed with a different major disease. You can see where this would lead.

Mistaking Lyme disease

Up until recently, many mainstream doctors didn’t even believe that Lyme existed. But with more than 100 years of evidence, from the first cases reported in Sweden in 1908, to the growing number in the United States since the 1970s, Lyme is now being accepted as a real condition and not ‘all in the patient’s head’ or another disease similar to it.

Lyme usually presents as the flu several days after the person has been bitten by a tick. If they get the bullseye rash, they will usually be given antibiotics. If the doctor is Lyme-savvy, even if there is no rash, they might give a blood test and/or recommend one of the AMA approved antibiotics most effective against Lyme.

The sad truth is that — No antibiotic is 100% effective against the Lyme bacteria – because the shape-shifting Spirochete can run and hide in different shapes, appearing to be entirely different bacteria.  There is no antibiotic that effecting against the Spirochete when it goes into a jelly-like glob or encapsulates itself into a protective shell. A person cannot take antibiotics forever because they take a toll on the body.  The water purifier has been a good answer for many who choose to take the health of their body into their own hands. Doctors are prohibited from even suggesting that the Lyme disease patient take chlorine dioxide because it works too well. Big Pharma needs to keep people sick and not offer a cure; they make more money if they manage the diseases through their drugs that have many bad side effects, and never really cure the original problem, but add more problems due to the various side effects.

Testimonial from Roy:

Personally, I got rid of fibromyalgia, sleep Apnea, and rheumatoid arthritis (which turned out to be Lyme disease) with chlorine dioxide, so I like it a lot.Read more at: https://alternativeresourcesdirectory.com/news/strange-bacteria-causes-disease[3]

However, not everyone gets the rash, blood tests can give false negatives, and not every doctor is Lyme-savvy. The cases that are not treated promptly are likely to develop into Lyme disease (actually the spirochete is found in over 300 named diseases and may be the actual cause of all these symptoms!) In this case, the person will often be misdiagnosed because Chronic Lyme disease (CLD), has symptoms very similar to those of several other chronic illnesses, including:

* juvenile idiopathic arthritis (idiopathic means ‘no known cause’)
* fibromyalgia
* chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)
* multiple sclerosis (MS)
* arthritis
* rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
* other autoimmune disorders in which the body starts to attack itself
* Heart problems
* Neurological problems, such as:
* Nerve pain
* Migraine
* Memory loss
* Cognitive dysfunction to the point that doctors think it might be dementia

and more.

Diseases Mistaken for Lyme

Sometimes doctors are so focused on Lyme disease, they might offer it as a diagnosis for another condition, especially if a blood test comes back positive.

The University of Maryland has a useful list which is grouped by the typical symptoms which have what is termed diagnostic differentials, that is, a range of different causes. http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/condition-symptom-links/conditions-with-similar-symptoms-as-lyme-disease

The most common symptoms of Lyme in its early stage are flu-like symptoms. One of the sure signs of Lyme infection is a bullseye rash, a red spot with a white and then a red circle around it. This is one of the best ways to differentiate Lyme from other illnesses.

We have edited the list to highlight, the most common diseases, those that Lyme is mistaken for and those which have more than one symptom in common with Lyme and might therefore convince a doctor to make a diagnosis of Lyme rather than anything else.
